The Final Dark Clash

from 2012 by Firage

about

I created the first part of The Dark Clash back in... 2006, I guess. When I heard about all these soundfonts that sounded like the instruments they used in SNES-games, I got all excited and wanted to give a try at making somewhat authentic stereotypical JRPG final boss battle music.

I wasn't entirely pleased with the first one, so I created The Dark Clash, Part II in 2008. And well, I've been working on the third one ever since then. I made lots and lots of demos but I always felt dissatisfied with them.

This final version of the song doesn't have any elements lifted from the previous demos. I started working on it during the summer of 2012, and finally finished it a bit before Christmas.

This is my tribute to some of my favorite JRPG composers: 植松 伸夫 (Nobuo Uematsu), 伊藤 賢治 (Kenji Ito) and 桜庭 統 (Motoi Sakuraba).
